Midwest Gym Supply Midwest Gym Supply

Our Origins

Before Midwest Gym Supply, there was Paul Kemp — a self-made innovator who saw that the gymnastics equipment available at the time simply wasn’t good enough. Rather than accept the limitations, Paul began designing and building his own apparatus for his club in Madison, Indiana, focusing on safer construction, better materials, and smart improvements coaches actually needed.

His designs quickly earned respect in the regional gymnastics community, and many of the ideas he introduced helped raise expectations for what quality equipment should look like.

What began as a small family workshop has grown into a 34,000 sq. ft. fabrication center, warehouse, and office facility, all still rooted in Paul’s original commitment to craftsmanship, problem-solving, and elevating the sport he loved.

Our Origins

What began as Paul Kemp’s solution for his own gymnastics club has grown far beyond one workshop — not from chasing growth, but from a commitment to doing things right.

Founded in 1989 in Madison, Indiana, we’ve grown into a 34,000 sq. ft. facility, yet our focus remains the same: craftsmanship, precision, and genuine service.

Today, Paul’s son Chris Kemp leads Midwest Gym Supply. He’s done it all — from hand-building trampolines to installing every type of equipment imaginable — carrying forward the same hands-on dedication that built this company.

FAMILY-OWNED

We're proud to be family-owned and operated—so even as we've grown, we haven't lost what makes us special. That personal touch is still there. When you call our 800 number, you're reaching real people who care.

We believe the best equipment is the kind you don’t notice—because it’s safe, it works, and it lets athletes do their thing. That means rigorous inspection, cleaning, and in-house control. Recently, we supplied 14 complete sets of equipment, in 5 states, across 9 events in one weekend—and everything came back cleaned and inspected.

Today, Paul’s son Chris Kemp leads Midwest Gym Supply, carrying forward the same hands-on dedication that built this company. Chris has literally done it all — from hand-building trampolines to installing every type of equipment in gyms across the country

His deep passion for gymnastics and commitment to serving the sport mirror his father’s vision. Under Chris’s leadership, we continue to honor that legacy with a strong focus on craftsmanship, safety, and supporting the gymnastics community at every level.

“We promise more than equipment. We promise an experience. From the first quote to installation day and beyond, we do it with the same care we’d want for our own club.”
